M25 Road Widening and Erosion Work

Salix were tasked with greening up a 45 degree slope consisting of 6F2 fill. We offered a value engineering solution by replacing the need for a geocell and soil layer and applying HydraCX direct onto the 6F2 fill material.

Chalk river restoration River Babingley, Hillington Estate

Salix has helped the Norfolk Rivers Trust to improve wildlife habitats on the chalk River Babingley, Hillington Estate near Flitcham, and River Nar at Pentney, near Kings Lynn.

Using Carbon Neutral Wetland Habitat to Prevent Erosion

Salix were asked to provide an environmentally sensitive solution to protect the embankments of around each lake. Working with the client, a range of bioengineering solutions were provided depending on the erosion risk and likelihood of vegetation establishment, providing multiple benefits between habitat creation and erosion control.

River works at Yearl Weir

Salix are involved in a project in Cumbria to reinstate a riverbank following a large flood event. The project involves installing a rootwad revetment and Salix Aqua-Rock Bags XL, providing natural bank protection, flow diversity and excellent habitat.
