Selecting the right fixing is essential to achieving the best performance from our products.
Ground conditions, water levels, flow velocity and installation methods all influence which fixing will deliver the best results.

We provide a wide range of fixings from biodegradable pegs to heavy duty anchoring systems, but because no two sites behave the same, we highly recommend speaking with our technical team before selecting a fixing.

Browse the options below, then get in touch for tailored advice.

Chestnut Stakes

Our UK sourced coppiced chestnut stakes can be used to secure Coir Rolls, Brushwood Fascines and Rock Rolls. Installed front and rear, with depth and length adjusted to ground and water conditions. These stakes are available in a variety of different lengths.

BioPeg

Biodegradable fixing for RECPs. Delivers holding strength for up to 18 months before breaking down naturally and disappearing.

Wooden T-Peg

Untreated timber fixing. Provides long lasting support for years before gradually degrading.

Gripple Pins

Top pin for hard ground, bottom pin for soft ground. Quick and easy to install using a standard drill to increase pull out resistance.

Rebar J-Pins

Durable fixing for RECP installations in harder ground conditions. Suitable for products such as CocoBN, C125BN, Coconet800, and Vmax TRMs.

U-Pins

Low profile fixing for RECPs. Ideal for turfed surfaces with a lower cut.

Rock-Lock™ Anchors

Anchoring solution for our ecologically sensitive rock products. Pre-assembled systems with Gripple technology for efficient installation, re-tensioning and maximum load capacity, negates the need for time consuming crimping.

The Rock-Lock™ load bearing plate has an open face allowing for vegetation establishment.

A combination of Ground Anchors, wire rope and Top Bearing plates are available, speak with our technical team to discuss the most appropriate options.

Terra-Lock™ Ground Anchors

The Terra-Lock™ system offers a complete, engineered solution for soil erosion control, slope stabilisation and geotechnical reinforcement. By combining Gripple Terra-Lock Ground Anchors with Salix Turf Reinforcement Mats (TRMs), the system delivers long-term stability through proven engineering principles and the natural strength of on-site materials.

Gripple’s innovative grip-and-pull technology works in partnership with the Terra-Lock anchor and Salix TRM to create a secure, reliable solution. Once driven into the ground, the anchor is set and then ‘flipped’, allowing it to lock into stable soil beneath potential failure planes. This installation method mobilises the soil’s engineering capacity with minimal disturbance while significantly increasing factors of safety.

Together, the Salix TRM and Terra-Lock anchor form a comprehensive, trusted solution for preventing bulk earth movement and reinforcing vulnerable slopes, watercourses and exposed surfaces.

Salix has partnered with Gripple, a globally recognised UK manufacturer, to offer the full Terra-Lock system along with comprehensive technical support. Once ground characteristics are understood our team can calculate anchor loads, model performance and advise on the most suitable configuration. Support can include site evaluation, technical drawings, submittals and on-site testing to validate the design.

    Compatible Products
Items commonly paired with these fixings.
    Pre-established Coir Rolls
Coir Rolls are an organic living revetment that provide erosion control and rapid vegetation establishment. Salix have developed a range of specific species mixes for use in all types of water bodies.
    Pre-established Coir Pallets
Salix produce a wide range of pre-established coir pallets planted with high quality native plant species. Coir pallets are composed from coir fibre which is a sustainable waste product from the husk of the coconut shell.
    Pre-filled Rock Rolls
Pre-filled Rock Rolls are a robust and permanent revetment for use around reservoirs, shorelines, lake edges, streams and river banks.
    Brushwood Fascines
Salix produce a range of brushwood fascines for use in rivers, canals and lakes. We use brushwood from sustainable sources and can supply various timber types including Ash, Hazel and Willow.
    VMax³ Shear Stress Turf
Salix have the facilities to contract grow turf using the VMax range of Turf Reinforcement Mats (TRMs). VMax C350 or P550 is used as the reinforcement element within the turf giving unprecedented scour protection performance.
    Loch Garry Spillway
    VMax³ P550
VMax³ P550 is composed of a permanent, ultra-high-strength, three-dimensional matting structure incorporated with a permanent 100% polypropylene fibre matrix.
    VMax³ C350
VmaxC350 is a permanent Turf Reinforcement for reinforcing soils. The VmaxC350 incorporates a coir fibre layer to provide instant erosion protection, whilst the three-dimensional grid provides significant long-term protection.
    VMax C500
A high tensile strength, 22mm deep high strength 3D skeleton Geomat with additional benefit of a coir fibre composite layer.
    CocoBN
Made from our sustainably sourced coir, this is an ideal erosion control mat for areas which require 100% bio-degradable interventions whilst still providing erosion control in high velocity situations.
Bionet C125BN laid out on bank
    Bionet C125BN
Bionet biodegradable erosion control blankets are designed to provide immediate erosion protection and vegetation establishment assistance, then degrade after the root and stem systems of the vegetation are mature enough to permanently stabilise the underlying soil.
    Coconet 800
    CocoNet 800
Salix’s CocoNet 800 is manufactured from ethical and sustainably sourced coir fibre, a by-product of the coconut industry.
