Revisiting habitat creation project Walthamstow Wetlands in London
We recently popped out to one of our favourite sites, Walthamstow Wetlands, to see how the reedbeds we had created were establishing.
We were delighted to see that the planting has developed and flourished, creating a wild habitat in the heart of the city.
We worked with London Wildlife Trust to desilt the reservoir, the silts were clogging up the open water and were no good for the city’s wildlife. We then used the silt to create 2 hectares of wetland habitat that invertebrates, birds and mammals, including the human kind, love.
