Wetland Nursery

We specialise in the collection and contract growing of native wetland plants from local provenance seed stock. In particular, we produce hundreds of thousands of Phragmites australis from several regional seed stocks including brackish provenance.

Our nursery is dedicated to growing hardy native wetland plants, and does not produce any non-native ornamental species.

Plants are grown for internal and external use, in applications such as bioengineering solutions, river restoration, SUDS, constructed wetlands and wetland creation.

Wetland Contracting

Salix have extensive experience in the creation, restoration and enhancement of all wetland habitat types.

From concept design to complex large-scale earthwork excavations Salix can take on any scale project.

Salix have developed mechanical methods of translocating wetland vegetation in a cost effective yet sensitive way. Translocation is not suited to large-scale restoration, but is an ideal way of relocating or creating small or fragile habitats.

Wetland Maintenance

Salix offer sensitive wetland maintenance services throughout the UK, often utilising specialist plant such as low ground pressure or even amphibious machinery.

Lake Contracting

We provide specialist contracting services using custom
produced machinery for lake dredging and restoration.
