All soil bioengineering solutions require detailed
knowledge of a broad range of disciplines, including soil science, plants and their ecology and fluvial and slope processes. We ensure that our solutions can be supported by empirical or performance data wherever possible, to increase design certainty and confidence in the techniques. Our key staff bring a multi-disciplinary approach to soil bioengineering with expertise in soil erosion control, geomorphology, wetland ecology, geo-technical engineering, sustainable construction and bioengineering.
Salix are based at the National Wetlands Centre, Llanelli, on a 200-acre wetland reserve, which is a unique and invaluable resource for sourcing bioengineering materials. Here, we actively manage over 40 acres of willow carr and collect seed and cuttings for use on our bioengineering projects. Our native wetland nursery produces hardy native wetland plants that are used in our reedbed and bioengineering projects. |
