Erosion Assessment Salix approaches every erosion issue holistically, taking into
consideration both the local river reach characteristics and catchment
scale processes.
We employ geomorphological survey methods to identify
the processes at work, causes of erosion and timescales
involved. Only after a detailed examination of the
processes at work, can an applicable course of action
be recommended.

Watercourse Bioengineering Service
Salix can design and implement all types of bioengineering solutions to best suit each erosion issue.
Hard revetments, such as concrete, gabions, sheet piling and blockstone, reflect flows and can create further instability downstream. Hard solutions are expensive to construct, are completely unsustainable and greatly reduce the ecological value of the watercourse. As such vegetated solutions will always be more desirable and usually more cost effective than traditional methods.
