Ramsden Bellhouse and Kent Hill, Essex

Client: WA Developments/Network Rail

Project Brief: A series of potentially dangerous deep seated failures on a railway embankment required treatment to prevent further slips.

The Solution: The geotechnical issues of ground stability were resolved using soil nailing. The surface erosion was solved by using North American Green (NAG) C350 composite Turf Reinforcement Mat (TRM) over seeded topsoil. The whole surface was then covered with a rock netting. Salix supplied the NAG C350.

The Result: Grass establishment through the NAG C350 has been excellent and the surface now provides a long term reinforced vegetative covering.

Materials used: NAG C350
