Shear Strength Turf
Shear Strength Turf is a Turf Reinforcement Mat delivered to site with its grass already established. Salix grow the Shear Strength Turf on beds lined with polythene sheets in their extensive wet-bed nursery. Having been tended and mown it is rolled up from the weed free polythene as 32m2 rolls to be delivered and rolled out on site as high performance erosion control. Normal use is where hard engineering is not
appropriate but high performance erosion
protection is required. The turf will perform where peak flows of 5, 6 and 7m/s are
predicted soon after installation such as dam spill ways, flood
prevention embankments
and river restoration schemes.
