Coir Net
Coir Nets are manufactured from Coir Fibres spun into 4mm diameter yarn. The closer the weave the better for soil erosion control. Typically 800g/m2 produces a weave that has good erosion control without inhibiting plant colonisation.
The woven Coir Nets will typically function for at least 2 years and additionally have a tensile strength for good soil containment properties. The containment is often useful when covering wet soils of channel banks or steep dry banks.
The soils are either seeded first or plug planted after installing and used only where the plants will be self-sustaining after the coir has degraded away.
