Coir Loop Net

Coir Loop Net is manufactured from coir yarn, woven into a close weave mat with yarns drawn up at regular intervals on one surface to give a coarse "towelling" effect. This would be the upper surface when laid on to the erosion risk. The roughness of the surface slows water passing over it and catches seeds, live plant debris and silt that allow natural colonisation of the surface. Salix can advise on how Coir Loop Net used as a lining under the lid of a pre-accreted gabion mattress speeds the colonisation of this "hard engineering " solution.

Coir Loop Net is durable for at least 2 years and its strength allows it to be used restrain the surface when pegged securely. It must only be used where the new plant regime can be relied on once the matting has biodegraded. For longer term root zone anchorage consider using a mat in the category "NAG Permanent Turf Reinforcement."
